Part of my Coast Collection, this scarf/collar was inspired by the different seaweeds I photographed on holiday. I love the Teesewater locks draping down like the seaweed over the rocks.

This unusual collar or scarf - shall we call it 'scollar'? - is made from soft merino wool, hand felted by me, with a band of fabulous Harris Tweed around the middle. The colour combination in the felt is a vibrant mix of greens, inspired by seaweed. The different shades of green blend beautifully and are complemented by the herringbone of the Harris Tweed. The soft curls of Teesewater locks make a striking curly fringe, giving movement to the scarf and remind me of the ropes of seaweed I saw on the shore. The fringe extends all the way round the scarf. A gorgeous handmade glass button, from fellow Folksy seller Heavenly Anarchist, which fastens with a felt loop adds a very stylish finishing touch.
This scarf/ collar is so soft and warm to wear. It avoids bulk under your coat or jacket and no fly away ends on windy days. It can also be worn indoors over a jumper and looks really fabulous worn with a simple dress.
This is my own design so you can be sure not to see another one the same.
For lovers of handmade, this collar is ideal - felt handmade by me, button handmade in glass by another crafter and Harris Tweed which is always woven by the weaver in their home in the Outer Hebrides. A unique and beautiful scarf!
