Unable to make any new felt due to a shoulder injury, I looked at my growing pile of felt offcuts from previous covers and decided to create a collage or 'sampler' in each colour group.
The results were really exciting, so the 'sampler' collection was born!

Full description
This smaller A6 journal/notebook cover has been completely hand-crafted and sewn, starting with a base fabric of handmade felt in shades of green, yellow, lilac and pink. The felt was made using merino wool, silk and various other fibres, using the traditional wet-felting method. The felt pieces were joined together, then stitched into using decorative machine stitching before being made up into a book cover.
The cover is softly padded, lined with hand-dyed yellow vintage damask fabric and oversewn several times around the edges. A length of yellow grosgrain ribbon has been stitched along the spine and a narrow satin ribbon forms an attached bookmark.
It comes complete with an A6 casebound sketchbook from Seawhite of Brighton, with 46 sheets (92 pages) of 140gsm acid-free cartridge paper. Their books are made in Britain using British paper and are renowned for their excellent quality.
The sketchbook can be substituted with an A6 hardback lined notebook if you prefer - just add a note to your order - or you can buy the cover only if you don't need a book (please contact me for revised price & postage).
The cover measures approx 6.75 x 4.75 inches (17 x 12 cm) closed, 9.75 x 4.75 inches (25 x 12 cm) opened flat, and will comfortably take a book or diary up to 6 inches (16 cm) high and 9.25 inches (23 cm) from front edge to back edge, measured around the spine with the book closed.
