Full description
This stunning dress length scarf has been made using a nuno felting process. Very fine layers of red merino wool have been laid over both sides of a red silk chiffon base fabric and natural white silk noil has been used to add attractive, textured flowers to one side of the scarf prior to felting. The base fabric has a colour gradient along its length of red to white and back to red and this is reflected slightly in the final scarf. Although felted on both sides, the floral decoration has been added to one side only.
Nuno felting is a process whereby woollen fibres are made to migrate through the underlying silk fabric and bind with it to produce a new material, trapping the silk noil at the same time. The resulting scarf is super soft, lightweight and drapes beautifully.
This dress length scarf measures approximately 118cm x 37cm (46.5" x 14.5") and would make a stunning addition to any outfit. It is a dress length scarf designed to wear draped around the neck, it is will not wrap around the neck twice. The use of natural fibres makes this scarf warm in winter yet cool in summer.
A lovely gift for any occasion.
Hand wash in warm water, do not wring. roll in a towel to remove excess water, reshape while wet and press with a cool (wool/silk setting) iron.
