A longer length nuno felted scarf made using very fine layers of natural white (unbleached) merino wool on a pale lilac silk chiffon scarf. Fibres of dark purple silk have been added to one side before felting to add a lustrous decorative effect. The reverse side has been felted but left plain.
The scarf has then been nuno felted, a process which allows the wool fibres to migrate through the silk chiffon and bind with it trapping the decorative silk fibres in the process. The resulting scarf is fabulously soft and lightweight and drapes beautifully.
The scarf measures approximately 192cm x 40cm (75.5" x 16") and is a longer length than my dress scarves allowing it to be wrapped around the neck for added warmth.
