I design and handpaint paint single or double initial letters in colour (or in 23c gold leaf or Palladium leaf for silver) for handmade Birthday or Wedding Anniversary gifts.
As well as handpainted letters, I also have fantasy animal cards, calligraphy placemats and a selection of calligraphy giclée art prints of sayings and quotes including a selection from JRR Tolkien's The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings..

Thistles are both decorative and stylish and I love to paint them. I paint different shades of purple in the flowerheads before adding the tiny hairs along the stems which help to soften the greens and bring all the colours together.
This is a custom-made item and cannot be returned unless faulty.

Any letter handpainted in purple with Scots thistles on high quality watercolour paper and framed within a square ivory mount.
Thistles are universally known as the emblem of Scotland and represent strength.
CUSTOM IDEA - Your letter can be painted in any colour with thistles, Just tell me which colour you would like when you order it.
Initial letter itself measures 36 x 38mm on a 120 x 120mm square of watercolour paper, all within a double ivory mount also of outer size 120 x 120mm.
Your order will be sent within 3-5 days of being placed and paid for - by First Class if to within the UK and by Airmail if to outside the UK. (Rest assured I will pack your initial in several layers of cardboard to ensure you receive it in perfect condition.)
