Unable to make any new felt due to a shoulder injury, I looked at my growing pile of felt offcuts from previous covers and decided to create a collage or 'sampler' in each colour group.
The results were really exciting, so the 'sampler' collection was born!

Full description
This original journal or notebook cover has been carefully hand-crafted and sewn, starting with a base fabric of handmade felt in shades of dark red, purple and orange, made using merino wool, silk and other fibres. The various felt pieces were needle-felted together, then stitched into using decorative machine stitching before being made up into a book cover.
The cover is softly padded, lined with hand-dyed red cotton fabric and oversewn several times around the edges. A length of dark red grosgrain ribbon has been stitched along the spine and a narrow satin ribbon forms an attached bookmark.
It comes complete with an A5 casebound sketchbook from Seawhite of Brighton, with 46 sheets (92 pages) of 140gsm acid-free cartridge paper. Their books are made in Britain using British paper and are renowned for their excellent quality.
The sketchbook can be substituted with an A5 hardback lined notebook on request - just add a note to your order.
The cover measures approx 6.25 x 9 inches (16.5 x 23 cm) closed, 13 x 9 inches (33 x 23 cm) opened flat, and will take a book or diary up to 8.5 (21.5 cm) long and 12.5 inches (32 cm) from front edge to back edge.
