Signed, stamped, hand titled, limited edition, mounted, Giclee print of original illustration by Mark McPhelim.
Deep in the heart of Glasgow's south side proudly stands the Battlefield Rest.
This famous Italian bistro took residence of the B listed building just over twenty years ago and has become a firm favourite.
Built in 1915, the building originally served as a tram shelter and kiosk.
The 'Rest' is one of my favourite local places to eat, so this was a labour of love! When we do make the short walk over, inevitably it is dark, cold and wet and I wanted to capture the stark contrast of the extreme elements with the welcoming glow emanating from within the the heart of the restaurant where a familiar smile, good food and perfect wine always awaits.
Whether or not you're familiar with the Battlefield Rest, I do hope you'll appreciate and relate to those cold, winter nights where your warm sanctuary beckons.

Looks closely and you'll notice that I've used the Restaurant's menu to create the pouring rain.
