Full description
Simple and robust, this unique sterling silver pendant has been created in my home studio.
Thick sheet sterling silver has been embossed with a leaf pattern by running it through a rolling mill with a genuine skeleton leaf. This pattern is a design permanent and is a unique pattern, pressed into the silver.
Cut, filed and polished by hand, before adorning the pendant with a large free form 'bead' of 9k yellow gold. This was created by melting a large piece of 9ct gold and letting it flow into a nugget shape before joining it with the sterling silver pendant by using extreme heat. This method of joining the two metals created a 'splash' of gold on the surface of the silver pendant and located the ball into ins final location - I love the feeling of movement this creates in the design.
The hand cut tube bail has been soldered onto the pendant and a fine 18 inch or 45cm ball chain has been threaded through. The pendant measures 43x6mm approx.
Hall Marked at the London Assay Office, the pendant also bears my unique makers mark.
This is a unique, one of a kind pendant and would be perfect for men or women to wear. If you would like a similar item in gold, please ask for details.
