Item details

My brooch is woven by hand with wool and a loom. I have used multi-coloured wool to create this layered look. I have added a wooden button in the middle. Maria designed her brooches to be worn in many different ways, wear them on your hat, scarves, bags, clothing, and head bands. Brooch measures 2x2 inches and has a safety clasp fastening.

My inspiration is my sister Maria. Maria had cervical cancer and we thought she had the all clear until she started to feel unwell, she also had 3 brain tumours. During her treatment she made hand made jewellery and accessories. We attended craft markets together and had great comments from people. After a 3 year battle and 6 operations Maria lost her battle in October 2015. She told my mum and also wrote in her diary that all she wanted to do was to get well and for us 2 sisters to do this together. This is why I have created Maria jayne's Memories to try to make her dream come true.
