Beautiful jewellery box made from reclaimed pallet wood. The wood hasn't been artificially aged, it looks old because the pallet it came from was stood outside in all weathers for several years.

The piece has been sanded well and finished with some Danish oil to bring out the interesting features in the grain as well as characterful blemishes that tell the story of its life as a pallet.

Antique brass effect hinges, catch and some burgundy felt finish off the piece beautifully.

This is a very solid, heavy quality piece which has been worked on extensively by me to get the quality finish with a rustic charm of its own you now see the in the photographs.

I started to notice that some pieces of pallet wood looked particularly attractive after I had put a fair amount of elbow grease into them with the sander.

My wife suggested that she would like me to make a jewellery box out of some wood she particularly liked.

I made the box, sanded it LOTS more, applied lots of wood oil and we were both quite stunned at how beautiful it looked. My wife's help again saw the box finished off with ornate hinges, catch and some felt lining for the bottom.

I can make these to your own requirements size wise. Each box is unique though. What the wood looks like is usually a bit of a lottery because you don't see the final effect until I have sanded the piece for quite a while! Usually though the results never disappoint and I'm gradually getting a better eye for spotting particularly good pieces of wood for these boxes!
