For this design I really wanted something simple but practical too. Premature babies are very delicate and need to be dressed with care. I wanted to make one of the smallest cardis available but in such a way that made it easier to put on an early baby. My premature baby collection is designed to be knitted for donating to neonatal units.

Full description
This is one of the tiniest little cardis you can get for premature babies/reborn dolls. It is to fit a 10 inch baby, actual chest size 12 inches, and is specially designed for ease of dressing. It is knitted in one piece to the armholes to minimise seams, has wide raglan sleeves and the cuffs close together snuggly with buttons. The cardi closes with 3 buttons to the front. The matching hat is a simple, easy to knit design.
This design is knitted in Wendy Peter Pan 4ply yarn which is beautifully soft next to the skin as well as being machine washable.
This design can be knitted and donated to your local neonatal unit to help keep their early babies warm and cosy.
