Welcome to Heavenly Anarchist, home to an abundance of glass and textile art. Please have a look around, I have a wide selection of homewares and gifts to suit all tastes.
I find the shapes of insects fascinating and this bowl is liking having a museum case to observe the dragonfly.

This glass bowl was fused by me in my studio. The glass was heated up to around 800 degrees celsius in a small glass fusing kiln, causing the copper insertions to oxidise to a lovely red blue. It was then brought to annealing temperature to make it strong. Any sharp edges were then smoothed by my grinder before slumping into a bowl shape. This whole process takes over 18 hours to complete.
This bowl has an embossed copper bee on clear glass and is approximately 5 1/2 inches across. The heat has turned the middle of the copper a lovely dark matt red and the edges have turned a stunning teal blue. The surface is glossy and smooth and it has been fully annealed to make it strong. This would make a great gift or treat.
There are some bubbles within the glass in this bowl which is quite normal when using embossed copper. However, the bubble between the antennae is larger than I would expect and I have reduced the price of the bowl to reflect this.
Not suitable for children - this is made from real glass and needs to be treated with respect - it may have sharp edges if broken. It is, however, made from thick annealed glass so is fairly robust for everyday use.
Other insects and bowls are available - please see my other listings.
