Full description
This scarf has been nuno felted using lovely soft white merino wool on a red silk chiffon base fabric. This has resulted in an overall pink effect. The underlying silk has a colour gradient along its length from red to pink and back to red and this is reflected in the final scarf. Several red poppies have been added to each end on one side of the scarf, the reverse side has been felted but without the additional decoration.
Nuno felting is a process which causes the wool fibres to migrate through the silk and bind with it. In this scarf the woollen fibre layers are extremely fine resulting in a very soft, sheer and lightweight scarf which drapes beautifully.
The resulting dress length scarf measures approximately 125cm x 40cm (49" x 16.5") and would make a stunning addition to any outfit. A truly luxurious item. The use of natural fibres makes this scarf warm in winter yet cool in summer.
A lovely gift for any occasion.
Hand wash in warm water, do not wring. roll in a towel to remove excess water, reshape while wet and press with a cool (wool/silk setting) iron.
