Full description
A nuno felted scarf made using white merino wool fibres on a red silk chiffon scarf base, resulting in an overall pink effect. The scarf has been decorated on one side with several large red poppies using red, black and green merino wool.
The base material in this scarf has a colour gradient along its length from red to pale pink and back to red which is reflected in the final product.
Nuno felting is a process which causes the wool fibres to migrate through the silk and bind with it. In this scarf the woollen fibre layers are extremely fine resulting in a very soft, sheer and lightweight scarf which drapes beautifully. It has been felted on both sides, the poppy decoration having been applied on one side only.
The resulting scarf measures approximately 126cm x 44cm (50" x 17.5") and would make a stunning addition to any outfit. Totally unique and truly luxurious. The use of natural fibres makes this scarf warm in winter yet cool in summer.
A lovely gift for any occasion.
Hand wash in warm water, do not wring. roll in a towel to remove excess water, reshape while wet and press with a cool (wool/silk setting) iron.
