I saw some pretty cotton Japanese knot bags and thought I would have a go at making one in wool. I like the interesting shape and the design of the handles. The addition of some Harris Tweed sets it in the Scottish context. I think it has worked out well.

This handbag is in the style of a Japanese knot bag. It has one short and one longer handle which thread through each other to close, leaving a conveniently sized loop for carrying the bag. Inside, there is a pocket made from the same Harris Tweed as the button trim which gives you a handy place for a phone or mirror and lipstick etc. The felted wool construction of this handbag makes it a sturdy bag which holds its shape well. It has a flat bottom so sits where you put it and stays upright. The buttons on the outside are covered with Harris Tweed to match the inside pocket, giving an individual and unique finish.
