A5 size applique & free machine embroidered zombie fabric notebook cover with sketchbook inside.
“don’t open – dead inside”
this sweet, undead beauty wears a floral liberty print dress with turquoise cotton detail to the sleeves, collar & bodice. her pretty pink hair contrasts with her corpse blue linen skin.
the fabrics are layered and appliqued onto cotton calico, and the intricate details drawn on with free machine (free motion) embroidery.
the text is written freehand, and her eyeballs are hand embroidered.
this cover is made entirely on a domestic sewing machine. everything is cut, stitched and handmade, with care, by me, ensuring each notebook cover is unique, well made and securely constructed.
the slipcover is made from heavy weight calico which has been pre-washed several times so it’s soft and should not shrink when washed. blood spatter (it’s fabric paint, honest!) may fade over time.
the seams are overlocked and topstitched and the cover is stiffened with vilene.
the calico cover is washable and re-usable, so you can simply replace the sketchbook
when it's full – the first book is included. the sketchbooks are manufactured in the UK. they are quality casebound hard cover books, containing 92 pages of 140gsm acid-free, all media cartridge paper. the books themselves measure approx. 21.5cm x 15cm
my design is based on an original drawing by Little Black Heart, and is used under license.
