Full description
One of a kind, handmade sterling silver and vitreous enamel pendant made using the technique of cloisonné enamelling. This is a truly timeless, feminine and elegant piece of jewellery that one can enjoy for ages.
In the creation of enamel jewellery glass particles are fused to prepared metal through multiple high temperature firings.
In this case opaque black and transparent dark red vitreous/glass enamel has been fused to a copper base and decorated with fine silver wire to draw the design. The base piece has been fired several times in a kiln at a temperature around 800-850 degrees to fuse the fine glass powder in different layers to the surface of the metal. After the firing process, the finished enamel piece has been set into a sterling silver bezel and backing made by hand specificly to fit the enamelled piece.
