Through a real appreciation of the Shakers and their ethos, Matthew has created an innovative product range called ‘The Peg Rail Cabinets’ which includes cabinets that hang from the Shaker peg rail. The Shakers believed that everything in the home should have a place. They did not believe in clutter or unnecessary objects. This was achieved by using peg rails at head height from which items such as chairs, mirrors and tools could be hung to keep the room clean and tidy. The Shakers believed that every object in the home should have a function and that decoration was unnecessary. Matthew has built on these principles and devised an exciting cabinet collection that is used in conjunction with his hand made peg rail. The creation is ideal for homemakers who desire functionality and tidiness.

The Hors d'oeuvres Board is handcrafted from solid oak designed for ‘chill out’ evenings in, entertaining or alfresco dinning.
The holes for the ramekins will fit bowls with a 90mm diameter, a size widely available. Please note: all our boards are supplied without ramekins.
Peg Rail Accessory features
The board holds two ramekins (measuring 90mm diameter) to present delightful Hors d'oeuvres. The remaining board space can be used for cold meats, cheeses, bread or pickles.
The board has four beech feet which measure 20mm to raise it from the table so that ramekins fit securely in the holes.
The two cut out holes on each side of the board enable easy handling.
Drain grove to contain any spillage.

The Hors d'oeuvres Board is designed to hang from the Shaker Traditions Peg Rail (the Peg Rail can be purchased half price when bought together with this board).
The dimensions are 600mm long by 200mm wide, thickness can vary but is between 24 to 27mm. Diameter of ramekins cut out 86mm.
How to care for the board
Wipe clean with soapy water and allow to dry. The board is supplied in its raw state. No further treatment is necessary before use. Natural stainage will occur when used adding to the character. This board is not to be placed in the Microwave, dishwasher or left to soak in water for long periods of time.
