Each order takes about 2 weeks from receiving the photograph(s) to create so please leave enough time if ordering for a Christmas present or birthday gift. When ordering, please send an email containing the image for me to use for the silhouette, plus the name and age you would like on your plaque.
This is a custom-made item and cannot be returned unless faulty.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.
Full description
This is a modern take on the traditional silhouette portrait. Lasercut from lovely 4mm thick plywood and then carefully hand finished, it will make a beautiful focal point for any wall.
Each plaque comes wrapped in tissue in its own presentation box and would make the ideal gift for family or friends.
How I make your silhouette plaque:
1) You send me a photograph of your loved one from the side against a plain background. (See below for tips).
2) I carefully draw around their profile on the computer.
3) I handwrite their name and age, scan it in and adjust it until it looks just right.
4) The file is cut and etched by the lasercutter out of 4mm birch plywood.
5) I hand finish the wood, attach the rope and it is ready to go into its presentation box!
Photography tips:
Make sure the subject is completely in profile, and the camera is at eye level. Ideally they should be against a plain light background. Whilst they are watching tv is a good time to snap little ones.
If hair is long it should be tied up as this looks better in silhouette.
