Item details

Stripped and refinished chair. Stained red with a water-based wood stain. Wormholes and other damage are highlighted with gold paint. The fabric for the seat is embroidered with the words worm-eaten. This is an art work as much as a chair.

Barbara - As I stripped the layers of paint off this chair I discovered wood worm holes - these were treated to remove the wood worm and then rather than disguising them I decided to celebrate them so added gold paint to the holes and other damage. Sarah embroidered the fabric for the seat with the words 'worm eaten'!
