Full description
I have turned this wooden bird ornament on my lathe, using an off centre technique to shape the head to one side and achieve the slope on the top of the body. The main head and body of the bird have been shaped from one piece of wood, then the beak has been turned seperately, but still using part of the same piece of wood. I have finished the wood with 3 coats of oil. Unfortunately I do not know what type of wood this is. The bird measures 128mm tall and the base is 44mm diameter.
