I have been wanting to make a fabric shopping bag for a while as I don't like the uncomfortable handles of plastic carrier bags when walking home with my shopping. The new system of charging for carrier bags spurred me on to finally create an alternative!

Full description
This fabulous fabric bag rolls up neatly and fastens with a buttoned strap, so it's easy to keep in your handbag ready for shopping trips. It has comfortable fabric handles and is finished inside with french seams for strength.
I have made this one in a lovely cotton fabric which has pretty red poppies on a black background.
The size is approximately 38cm wide by 39cm high - plenty of room for your shopping. When rolled up it measures around 8cm x 6cm - small enough to pop into your handbag!
