The two little rabbits are standing on a mossy tree stump in a Forestry Commission woodland in East Devon. The dappled lighting gives the moss the effect of a beautiful carpet.

The range of knitting patterns designed by myself provide exquisitely detailed miniature outfits for Sylvanian Families, Calico Critters and Forest Families, suitable for both small children and adult collectors.

This pattern gives knitting instructions for a warm winter outfit for your Sylvanian Families member. The jumpers look cosy and are surprisingly easy to make; the individual colours are used one at a time, with the second colour left hanging until a later row. The trousers have little pockets (optional) which will delight young owners. The jumpers can be worn back to front, and then they become jackets!

These basic patterns fit average sized Sylvanians, around 3 inches tall for the larger size and around 2.5 inches tall for the smaller.

The outfits are all knitted with 1.5mm needles (size 17 in old UK sizing). You will need fine machine-knitting yarns, one or two ply acrylic works best, or cobweb wool yarn.

I am using Royal Mail UK Tracked 48 service for knitting belts to give you confidence in delivery.

I knitted a pair of socks (for real-sized people) in a mosaic design and was intrigued by the simplicity of the structure. I devised the simplest variation and scaled it down to a tiny Sylvanian jumper to suit beginner miniature knitters.
