My husband took a photo of this robin from a distance with his mobile phone, while parked in his car. It was very blurry and the colours were rather dull. But I loved the contrast of the little bird among the tree foliage. I made the painting using artistic licence to increase the vividness of the colours, a little imagination, some juicy paint, and happy thoughts.

Original painting of Robin, hand painted bird art
I created this original painting of a Robin on a stretched canvas, 5x5in (12.5x12.5cm) approx. Hand painted in acrylics, it would make a colourful feature displayed on it's own, or grouped with other small paintings on a wall. Popped onto a shelf it's sure to attract attention. An early Christmas present for yourself perhaps, or as a gift for a loved-one on Christmas Day.
I've painted the canvas sides green with red spots to complete the jolly festive look, and the whole is finished with a gloss varnish to enhance and protect the painting.
