I have been experimenting with different ways of using traditional rug making techniques and was intrigued to try using this delicate, sheer fabric with the rough hessian base I use for proggy rag rugs. The resulting wreath gave me great pleasure! I had a length of vintage gold coloured velvet which I decided would make an ideal lining for the back. Finally, I had bought some little gold beads at a popup vintage shop in Peebles recently (love shops like that) and adding a few of these seemed like it was meant to be!
This wreath is a bit of a change for me as I mostly work in wool and tweed. I love it and hope you will as well.

Full description
This wreath is made from white, sheer fabric with gold accents. It is made using a traditional rag rug making technique - proggy. The fabric strips are woven into the hessian base which is then fixed to a frame and backed with gold velvet.
The frame is approx. 30cm in diameter and the fabric extends a little further than this. The wreath has a gold ribbon hanger so is ready for you to hang on your wall or door.
This pretty wreath would be a lovely decorative addition to a wedding or Christening celebration or a romantic room design. It looks lovely hung on a door or wall and equally good sitting on a dresser, mantelpiece or wedding car.
