I love the colours and the texture of Harris tweed. I especially love that it's made only by weavers, often in their homes, in the Hebrides. Traditional ways that people used to make things for their homes have always interested me and when someone showed me the proggy technique for making rag rugs I decided to combine that with my love of tweed.
Harris tweed rugs use a lot of fabric - a lot - and I decided to experiment with using the technique for other, smaller things. I love making these wreathes and never make the same design twice, so you can be sure your wreath is unique.
These wreathes are a great way to add warmth and texture to a room and this one is one of my favourites.

Full description
Handmade by me, using the traditional proggy rug making technique, this Harris tweed wreath is made from a turquoise and lilac herringbone and a plain lilac tweed. The Harris tweed strips are woven into a hessian base and the wreath is backed with navy velvet. It comes with the Harris tweed authentication label.
The frame diameter is 30cm approx. and the tweed extends a little beyond this.
The wreath has a velvet ribbon hanger so is ready for you to place on your wall or door. This wreath also looks gorgeous propped on your mantelpiece or dresser.
My Harris tweed and other fabric wreathes can also be made to order. They look equally at home with both traditional and contemporary styles.
