Full description
This stunning black floral scarf has been made using a nuno felting technique. A very fine layer of black merino wool has been laid over one side of a black silk chiffon scarf and various wool and silk fibres have been added to the ends to create a floral decoration. The scarf has then been nuno felted, a process which allows the woollen fibres to migrate through the silk and bind with it. In order to preserve the sheer properties of the scarf felting has only been applied to one side leaving the silk visible on the reverse.
The resulting scarf measures approximately 138cm x 40cm (54" x 16") and is extremely soft and lightweight. It is wide enough to drape around the shoulders as a shawl or wrap. As it is made from all natural materials it will be warm in winter yet cool in summer allowing it to be used all year round. It would look fabulous teamed up with either smart or casual outfits and is bound to make a statement.
An ideal gift for any occasion.
Hand wash in warm water, do not wring, roll in a towel to remove excess water, reshape while wet and press with a cool (wool/silk) iron. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
