Full description
This nuno felted scarf has been made using a fine layer of white merino wool on both sides of a cotton cheesecloth base fabric. Several large red poppies and associated green stems and leaves formed using merino wool have been placed on the ends of the scarf on one side prior to felting.
The nuno felting process allows the woollen fibres to migrate through the cheesecloth base and bind with it resulting in an amazingly soft and lightweight scarf. The fineness of the wool layers results in the structure of the underlying cheesecloth to show through adding to the beauty of the design. The scarf drapes beautifully around the shoulders and is bound to make a statement. It could be teamed up equally well with either a smart or casual outfit.
This scarf measures approximately 175cm x 35cm (69" x 14") and would make a wonderful gift for any occasion.
The scarf can be hand washed in warm water. Do not wring, reshape while wet, do not tumble dry. Iron on low (wool) setting.
