For a number of years now, I have kept a jewellery design notebook and, alongside frogs, lizard designs were amongst the first entries. So a lizard necklace was inevitable. I set out intending to model the lovely smooth, curvy common garden lizard – but my attention was captured by the wonderfully charismatic head and crest of the Green Crested Lizard, with his throat pouch and his somewhat stiff and angular body.
I hope that I have done him justice.

Lizards are a great favourite – and this green crested lizard, clinging to a near-vertical rock face, was particularly charismatic that I couldn’t resist trying to model him.
He is just over 95mm in length and is made in sterling silver using the lost wax casting technique. He is mounted on a robust 16"/40cm silver snake chain and is hallmarked.
