An eye catching scarf created using a nuno felting technique.
Very fine layers of black merino wool has been laid over a silk chiffon base scarf and wool and silk fibres in various colours have been used to create a floral decoration at the ends. The scarf has then been nuno felted, a process that causes the wool fibres to migrate through the silk and bind with it. In order to preserve the sheerness of the scarf it has been felted on one side only.
The resulting scarf is amazingly soft and lightweight and drapes beautifully. It measures approximately 132cm x 38cm (52 " x 15") and in wide enough to wear as a shawl around the shoulders. The nature of the wool and silk combination means it will be warm in winter yet cool in summer making it ideal for wearing all year round.
No photograph can do this scarf justice!
This scarf would look fabulous teemed up with that "little black number" or indeed with any outfit smart or casual. A super gift idea for any occasion.
The scarf can be hand washed in warm water, do not wring, roll in a towel to remove excess water, reshape while wet, press using a cool (wool/silk setting) iron. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
