Item details

I've been an activist since the age of 3 but never felt like I fitted into lots of activist groups. I've worked for large charities such as Oxfam as a professional campaigner for 7 years and saw that craft could help tackle some of the concerns I have about activism.

Activism often conjures up quick transactional signing of petitions, clicktivism, loud and aggressive ways to demand justice. I created these Craftivist Collective projects and tools to provide 'slow activism' that uses craft as a meditative tool to stop, reflect and act on injustice issues in a transformative, gentle and hopeful way.

You can join the collective by ordering a kit, make a cup of tea and take part on your own or with friends. Share your 'crafter-thoughts' and results online with us @craftivists and join fellow changeMAKERS around the world improving our world one stitch at a time… :) x
