Jane Kendall 1968 - 2018
It is with great sadness that we have to share the news that Jane died at the end of October from an aggressive cancer diagnosed in Spring 2018. Mike (her husband) and Becky (her best friend) will be keeping Jane's amazing work alive using her original linocut blocks, ink recipes and hand colouring techniques. Once the older signed stock has been sold, prints will be available exactly as before, but unsigned. Many many thanks to all who have bought and enjoyed Jane's work over the years. She loved you all.
We print this design on to hand dyed lokta paper which as the inks varies, gives the sea and the sky a little more life. The sea reflects the sky as the stripes are mirrored increasing in size. The calm of the sea and the sky are not affected by the chaos of the gulls.
This is the first of a series of prints Jane created in 2015 using photographs our kids had taken over the summer, they earn the profit from the first sale of each design created from their photo's, happy kids, happy Mum!
The gulls are hand printed in two layers and hand finished, and the image measures 24cm square on paper minimum 30cm square. Each print is slightly different.
