Item details

A Sewing Needle Cases or Booklet in dark blue with lace trim. The spine of the needle case or booklet has a strip rustic brown and cream tapestry woven cotton fabric. The back of the case is the same dark blue material as the front and inside covers. Down the front cover is a piece of pale yellow cotton Bedfordshire Bobbin Lace which has a thin dark brown ribbon border on one side.

The case is fastened with a large retro blue plastic button and white flat elastic loop.

Inside the case both the front and back covers have an opening to store packets of sewing needles, press studs, cards of buttons or small embroidery scissors. They are even big enough to hold a small reel of cotton thread. Into the centre of the needle case has been hand sewn with dark blue cotton embroidery thread four leaves or pages of yellow felt to pin your sewing needles and pins into.

The lace was the inspiration for this sewing needle case. I have loads of Bedfordshire bobbin lace which I made many years ago but have just never got round to doing anything with. I re found my box of lace and I just wanted to showcase a few of the shorter lengths. As I'm creating a series of sewing needle cases I thought this was a great opportunity to show off a small piece of the lace.
