A long and striking wool and cotton scarf with poppy detail.
This beautifully soft and lightweight scarf has been made using a nuno felting technique. A very fine layer of soft white merino wool has been applied to both sides of a cotton cheesecloth base scarf and five large poppies have been added to the ends of the scarf on one side. The reverse side has been left plain. The scarf has then been nuno felted which allows the wool fibres to penetrate the cotton fabric and bind with it. This allows a very sheer felted scarf to be created which has the additional strength of the cotton fabric. The very fine woollen layer allows the texture of the cheesecloth to show through which adds additional interest to the scarf. I have tried to illustrate this in the close up photograph.
The scarf measures approximately 196cm x 38cm (77" x 15") and is amazingly soft and featherlight. Being made from all natural materials it will be cool in summer yet warm in winter making it suitable for year round wear.
Make a statement, this scarf would look fantastic with either smart or casual wear and is bound to be a talking point.
Washing Instructions: hand wash in warm water, do not wring, roll in towel to remove excess water, reshape while wet, iron on cool (wool) setting. Don not machine wash or tumble dry.
