Welcome to the listing of my unicorn.
This is a large handmade textile taxidermy piece of fibre art. I can assure you no unicorns were harmed making this piece of textile art.
I made him using unbleached calico cotton. Hand stitching each piece to create the shape of the face, sculpting it around large black glass eyes. I embroidered around each nostril to make them more defined. I used a lovely teal wool for the inside of the ears and furry-ed them using a faux lamb skin material. His long mane is made from a cream wool yarn with streaks of teal and shimmering white. I used textile paint to shadow the face and the long eye lashes gives him a really lovely expression. His horn is made from painted cotton that I have twisted and glittered a little. Around his eyes are small Swarovski crystals as well as different beads. As I didn't want to mount a unicorn on a hunting shield he is coming out of the wall (the rest of his body is in the next room ;) ).
This is a really large piece measuring about 75cm from top of horn to the base of the neck.
