Super gorgeous gemstones teamed with simple form and shape go together to create these feminine earrings.
Hand forged using traditional silver smithing techniques in my workshop, these earrings display examples of wire wrapping, hammering and wire shaping.
The gently curving ear wires have been adorned with the most wonderful, fiery, natural Ethiopian Welo Opal drops or briolettes. The stones have amazing colour play in all lighting conditions, however this is very difficult to capture on camera. Blues, greens, oranges and reds shine from within these transparent gems. The stones are also known as crystal opals, which accurately describes the clarity of these stones. Unlike solid white opal, which are opaque with colour play, the colour play from these gems seems to float inside the stones - please see photos.
The earrings have been hallmarked at the London Assay Office and display my unique makers mark.
The earrings measure 27mm in length approx or just over 1 inch approx. Each gemstone is unique.
Due to the value of these earrings, P&P within the UK is by Royal Mail Special Delivery, next day service insured. If you are purchasing from outside the UK, please contact me for postage prices before checkout.
