Sterling silver bangle or cuff, formed by Anticlastic Raising.
This silver bangle has been raised from flat sheet using a hammer and a sinusoidal Triblet, which is an undulating form, used for shaping sheet metals. The flat sheet of sterling silver has been carefully hammered, to created a 'u' shape into the sheet. I have left my gentle hammer marks in the sterling silver - especially clear on the reverse side of the cuff. This is a wonderful pattern and indicates the hundreds of individual hammer blows that were made to create this design.
I have given the bangle a high polish both inside and out and is smooth against the skin.
The bangle is approximately 14mm wide. It has an internal diameter of 6.5cm which should fit a medium to large ladies wrist. Due to the oval shape, which contours the wrist and the open design, it can be gently manipulated to be slightly larger or smaller to hug your wrist line.
Created from solid sterling silver, it weighs a heavy 24.2 grammes and has been assayed at the London Assay office. It bears my unique makers mark.
