Cushion cover, 46 cms. x 46 cms., Heals retro Trees print
Hand sewn cushion cover made from a piece of Heal's "Trees". Designed by textile artist Cressida Bell, the granddaughter of Vanessa Bell and great niece of Virginia Woolf, " exclusively for the Heal's 1810 collection. Heavily influenced by the 1930s and 1940s trends, Bell has looked to such period illustrators as Eric Ravilious and Edward Bawden for inspiration behind this piece." ( quoted from the Heals website ) The back has been sewn in a beige linen and it has been piped in a matching red cotton. All the seams have been double sewn and four stitched overlocked for strength.The cushion has a flap on the reverse for ease of opening and is embellished with five wooden buttons.
Measures approximately 18 inches / 45 cms. square.
