Handmade in Scotland by Alison MacVicar
(BA Hond Degree, Art & Design).

This panel started off being a transparent sheet of bullseye glass. I then built upon it putting on the different coloured layers, glass frit, dichroic glass, glass boat and mosaic pieces. Once the image is carefully tidied up, the glass picture is fused in a kiln. The firing of the picture takes up to 24 hours as the kiln must be cooled very gradually to avoid breaking the fusing glass.

Each one of my pictures is completely original. They are individually handmade to ensure that no two can be the same. It is my love for what I do that drives me to create my pictures. I can never be completely sure how a painting will look when it comes out of the kiln, but it is always a pleasant surprise.

The wood and canvas backing has picture hooks on the reverse so it is ready to hang.

Each picture is signed and dated on the reverse.

Canvas backing: 10cm x 30cm x 1cm

Glass panel: 8cm x 28cm x 5mm
