The inspiration came from some doodling with circles and intersections thereof. You see, I am quite a mathematical person, and it shows in this piece. I always have a stash of rough turned wood drying in a cupboard, and the competition got my mind going. I actually made a total of three items, but the other two (listed here as well) never made the competition.
