Gemstones are an endless source of inspiration to me. The soft blush of rose quartz is unique in the mineral kingdom and has appealed to people in the earliest recorded times. Ancient Roman, Egyptian and Greek civilisations made rose quartz jewellery and carried rose quartz crystals as potent talismans. It has long been believed it to have healing powers, the Egyptians even believed it could prevent ageing.

Known as the "love stone", it is said to balance the emotions and heal anger and disappointment. Rose Quartz has also traditionally been given to newborn babies to help in their transition from the spirit world to the physical realm, gently integrating the two and helping with adjustment. What a wonderful gift to give a new or expecting mummy!
