A stunning 4mm square, rose cut Rhodolite Garnet set on a shimmering silver thread. Rhodolite garnet has a lovely intense cranberry colour, beautifully shown off by the faceted cut of this stone. The ring band is made from 1mm recycled sterling silver wire which is hammered to give a sparkling, faceted appearance.

Gemstones are an endless source of inspiration to me. Rhodolite is a variety of Garnet. Its name is derived from two Greek words - rhodon meaning rose coloured and lithos meaning stone. It displays all the brilliancy and fire of the Garnets, with a beautiful raspberry colour. Garnet has long been thought of as a travellers' stone, Noah's Ark is said to have had a garnet lantern to help navigate during the night. Garnet is also the traditional birthstone for January.
