Lovely and lacy - striking and contemporary!
I call this delicate brooch "Bloom". It was inspired by Allium flowers and is worked here in four shades of yellow/orange with green. The design and technique are all my own invention - I just love to experiment with stitch and come up with unusual effects.
I created it by machine embroidering freely on soluble fabric in colourful rayon threads. After dissolving away the fabric, four sizes of lacy circles are stitched together with tiny beads in between to make a three dimensional flower. The finished brooch is about 4.5 cm (1.75”) in diameter. A small brooch pin is glued to the back.
Your brooch will arrive in a black card presentation box which protects it in the post as well as being ideal for a gift.
Please note that while I have made every effort to show the correct colours, they will appear slightly different depending on the lighting and screen used. The brooch you receive will be almost identical to the one in the photo, with slight variations due to the variegated thread used and the nature of the freehand stitching technique.
Also, remember you may be viewing this brooch much bigger than life size - which isn't usually flattering!
