Full description
There are some ideas Jane constantly revisited, and transformation was one of them. This is probably Jane's neatest most mathematical linocut. Jane said it showed one half of her, describing herself as a very messy mathematician. Printed in one colour, this design is rather static and dry, but the colour blend brings it to life and adds a certain amount of movement. Do you think the butterflies are flying up, or the snowflakes are falling down?
The image is hand printed in a blend of inks from purple to green, on handmade hemp or lokta paper. The image measures 10cm x 26cm and is printed onto paper that measures 20cm x 36cm.
