This Light shade has been inspired by the current hot trend for industrial style lighting, usually very expensive, but with a little imagination we create something special for a little less :)

Superb! We love these repurposed lamps in our shop; bright, colourful, so trendy and a real talking point!
These metal lamp shades are recycled from kitchen colanders bought from local charity shops(donation of £2 usually!). Each one is slightly different, some have handles, others don't, and the holes are in different patterns on each too! The ones in the picture have now been sold (9/1/15) so the patterns and design might vary from the ones shown.
I clean and prepare the surface of each one; then primed, painted and lacquered on the outside, and polished on the inside to remove scratches, marks etc.
They generally measure around 9" - 10" (23-26cm) across and the depth options are; Deep 5" (13cm) or Shallow 4"(10cm).
The Deep option allows for a nice oversized Globe lamp (pictured) but the Shallow option looks best with a long slim Edison bulb.
A 1.25"(28mm) hole has been drilled in the top to accommodate a standard bulb holder as shown in pic 4
Many times have we seen similar things in kitchen shops purposefully made and very expensive. These are great value for money and I love to carry on upcycling waste objects into original home decorations as long as you love to buy them!
