Felted merino and shetland with additional textile pieces for texture, working from the images in my head from daily observation of this landscape. This piece is best described as a textile painting, it is a stylised representation of the Argyll landscape. The fleece is layered in small 'teases' to create the multi tones and textures of the sky, landscape and sea. This is a scene that I look at on a daily basis while walking the dog, assimilating the changing relationship of light and dark, water and sky. Silk scraps, hand spun yarn and threads have been used to provide additional texture.

As with all my work, nothing is pre sketched, everything develops organically as I work with the colours and textures of the fleece and the other fabrics.

Felt approx. 52 x 42 cms

The whole piece has been wet felted and then mounted on board. Priced on board but can also be supplied in a box frame for an additional cost. Please message me if this is required. Framed £180.00 and postage as required, allow an extra 14 days as frames individually & professionally made.

This is a composite of my everyday views. It is constantly changing, with the seasons, the light, the weather and the tide. For me this constantly changing relationship between sea, the land and sky is an on going influence on my work playing out in the relationship between the colours of the fleece. I use pieces of fabric to add additional depth and texture
