I have always been inspired by nature and stories of Druids and how they venerated Oak trees. The Game of Thrones imagery of the Weirwood trees in Westeros reminds me of these stories, and fires my imagination for creating jewellery.

Inspired by the Weirwood tree in the Game of Thrones series of books I have carefully painted the leaves in blood red oil enamel paint.
The Weirwood is a species of deciduous tree found all over Westeros. The Heart Tree has white bark with five-pointed, blood-red leaves. In the books The Children of the Forest are thought to have carved faces which are found on them. The weirwood trees live an extremely long time, and even when they die they do not rot. Objects made of weirwood are as lasting as stone.
For my necklace I have oxidized the silver plated metal tree for depth of colour and defintion of texture and so that the red leaves stand out well.
Measurements : total drop of pendant approx 3.5cm x 4cm wide. Hung on a 42cm antiqued silver chain. As each pendant is hand made there may be slight differences from the picture.
The last image shows my pendant with the raven charm to illustrate the size of the tree being worn, this listing does not include the charm.
Note: Not to be worn with a woolly scarf!
