What does Upcycle mean to us?
Wikipedia defines upcycle as: “The process of converting waste materials or useless products into new materials or products of better quality or for better environmental value”.
MMM believes also beautiful and useful should be added to this definition.
Often, the pieces we use have marks or other signs of use. This does not detract from the resulting art work, rather enhances it’s beauty. Please be assured that each piece is robust and fit for purpose!
MMM uses recycled items either as a substrate (base) or tesserae. Often porcelain or other crockery material is used to decorate items such as plates, bowls and cups. Mirror, glass and window frames are also re-purposed - in fact often only the stained glass we use is “new”. Even the ceramic tiles sometimes used as a base are recycled from building sites.
In our process we are able to integrate your own mementos into the finished work which can make the piece even more precious for you.
This is a custom-made item and cannot be returned unless faulty.

Full description
An ideal hostess or housewarming gift, this set of four traditional celtic themed coasters are for the well dressed table. These beautiful round coasters are attractive and useful. The substrate is MDF and the backs are painted black.
Approximately 8.25cm (3.25") around, if you wish, these coasters are also available in your choice of colours and theme.

All of our items may be made to order and to your specifications. The materials will be similar but the colour, placement and shape of the crockery and tiles may vary depending on your choice. Please indicate your choice of colours (Pictures 4 & 5) in the "Notes to Shop". I will grout the item in an appropriate colour. I am always happy to answer any questions you may have.
