Full description

This is a stained glass suncatcher made using the Tiffany copper foil technique.

An abstract, very blue design.

handmade

It is a 5 inch square of bright blue glass, with the corners made from iridescent glass and the sides textured. This gives the outer frame lots of movement..

I've then filled the middle with a collection of mainly blue glass nuggets, a couple of millefiori beads and some pieces of blue glass to make up an abstract design. 10 of the pebbles have been made by me, fused in my hotpot kiln and they have dichroic and coloured accents. All very abstract and interesting.

I've framed the outer edge with twisted wire and hung it from the corners which makes it 6.75 inches high and wide.

It hangs from a little silvery chain which is securely attached to the top of the suncatcher.

it is would make a wonderfully bright addition to any room.

It is totally individual and I am really pleased with my new design.

My daughter says it looks like pebbles on a beach. Not sure about that but it looked pretty stunning hanging in my blue bathroom window waiting to be photographed.

I never make two pieces exactly the same, I always use slightly different colours and textures of glass for each piece to ensure they are unique. I can make this in other colours but cannot make one exactly the same as the glass stones I make in my kiln are unrepeatable.

The 5th photo shows the previous suncatcher I made to this pattern.
