Have a lovely Chrsitmas everyone
And thank you for supporting my business through 2025 Joy xx

I originally designed this suncatcher to represent the colours of Thailand, of the Chinatown and Chatuchak markets in Bangkok.
This version is in slightly less vibrant colours but jewel rich and is my interpretation of ribbons or even feathers or leaves blowing around in the wind.

Full description

This is a stained glass suncatcher made using the Tiffany copper foil technique.

I designed this in 2014 as a Rainbow Ribbons suncatcher.

Today I wanted to make something to represent the wild wind blowing outside my studio so I adjusted my pattern to make it a picture of ribbons blowing in the wind.

I've used iridescent raindrop glass for the surrounding pieces and lots of streaks and textures for the twisting ribbons.

I've used jewel colours, red, pink, purple and turquoise, a combination I find really appealing in glass. The ribbons swirl out a multi-faceted lead crystal, in a square shape but hanging on the diagonal from the corner.

I've framed the square in twisted wire for strength and neatness.

This is 13 cm square and hangs from a little silvery chain which is securely attached to the top of the suncatcher.

I never make two pieces exactly the same, I always use slightly different colours and textures of glass for each piece to ensure it is unique.

The 5th photo is of the rainbow version, now sold.
